This a memory play.
Michael looks back on 2 summer days in Donegal in 1936 when he was 7,
looked after by 5 spinster sisters barely making ends meet, one of whom
is his mother. His Uncle Jack,a missionary priest returned from Africa, has
somehow “gone native”, and his feckless father drifts in and out.
A masterly bitter-sweet piece of storytelling linked by music and dance “a
healing, wordless ritual”.
