A Warm Welcome to the 2017/18 Season

It has been an enormous pleasure and challenge to finally arrive at an eclectic selection of fifteen plays. I believe that there is something for everyone, both patrons and members alike. My Programme Advisory Group has endeavoured to cover different time periods, nationality of playwright and, of course, comedy and tragedy in all of its guises. I am so grateful to have had such wonderful support and my thanks to all of them for staying with me as we move forward to become the Artistic Team for 2017/18.

Additional support is provided by our wonderful team of volunteers who all work exceptionally hard so ensure that these productions can go on. These are our unsung heroes and we all should appreciate them more so my heartfelt thanks to each and every one of them.

Every year on Light Night and our popular open evenings we are regularly told "we didn’t know you were here" often by people who have lived locally for years. So please do not assume that family, friends and work colleagues know of our existence. Our patrons are our greatest asset, so do feel free to spread the word and copies of this season brochure far and wide!

Finally, challenge yourselves and come and see a play that is not a natural choice for you. I have been involved with this unique theatre for eight years now and it is amazing how I could not have predicted my favourite production of the season at the outset.
