The Lace Market Theatre has enjoyed huge successes in recent years and has always strived to invest its surplus income into improving the experience of it's patrons and membership.
In recent years we have been able to refurbish the ladies dressing rooms, the public toilets, made upgrades to the green room and installed a complete new bar just last summer.
This summer we are not stopping our improvements to the building as we undertake one of the most significant refurbishments a theatre can - the auditorium! If you attended the AGM in March you would have had the opportunity to sample one of the new seats, which have all been measured up as per the following layout.
One effect of this improvement has been that we will no longer be able to change the seating layout away from the centre-aisle configuration. Fire regulations have forced us to no longer allow the side-aisle configuration, but benefits of static seating are that we are able to both straigten what was a dog-legged centre aisle and add 6 additional seats to increase the capacity of the auditorium from 118 to 124.
Here are the bulletted details of the new layout.
