The Lace Market Theatre Board of Trustees is financing one of the places on the Homegrown Performers and Creatives Group, a training scheme to be started by Nottingham Playhouse as soon as Covid restrictions allow.
The first recipient of this Bursary is Ophelia Hibbert; congratulations to her. Sarah Ogando, who runs the Youth Theatre, writes:
"She’s very overwhelmed to get it and wants to thank the theatre for the opportunity. She is currently applying for Drama School for next year. From a directors point of view, she is always filled with energy, drive and good humour. Ophelia is naturally talented at acting and has great comic timing which she showed in her fabulous portrayal of Sybil in Daisy. She was due to play Rosalind in AYLI, a role which has been quoted as being the female Hamlet as it is Shakespeare’s most substantial female character in any of his plays and full of multi dimensional characteristics. Ophelia had wrapped all this up in her version of Rosalind. A wonderful member of the YT and a well deserved recipient."
