Evening all! Here’s an update on the Youth Festival yesterday.

We won the June Barker cup for Best Entertaining play for Beasts and Beauties and the Dan Shaw Painting for our devised piece Sheeple.

We had five highly commended awards too for Adelaide, Roisin, Mary, Beatrice and Rhiannon.

We didn’t win Play of the Festival or Runner Up. The plays which won were a children’s panto full of younger children and a short version of Joseph which was sung all the way through. We had a good adjudication which basically said we were on different level yet still failed to win. Of course, the decision is based on the adjudicators opinion and as such is open to interpretation.

However despite the disappointing result the Youth Theatre did you all proud not only through their acting but through their support and encouragement of the other groups and their team spirit.
